Welcome to Badass Homelife: My Journey to Finding My Ikigai

May 12, 2026

Hi, I’m Kat, and I’m so glad you’re here.

I thought one of the best ways to start this blog was by sharing a little more about who I am, where I came from, and how Badass Homelife came to be.

I was born and raised in the Philippines and moved to the United States when I was 26 years old. Like many big life transitions, that move came with growth, change, and a lot of self-discovery.

Before I ever stepped into the world of home organizing, I was actually a licensed Interior Designer. Designing spaces was something I genuinely loved. I was fascinated by how environments could shape the way we feel, function, and live. But over time, I realized that while I loved transforming spaces, I wanted something more personal. I wanted to work more closely with the people living inside them.

I wanted to understand not just what made a space beautiful, but why certain spaces felt overwhelming, unsupported, or difficult to maintain for the people using them.

That curiosity changed everything.

In 2017, I started Badass Homelife, and honestly… I had no idea how much this business would change my life.

What began as a passion for organizing quickly became something so much bigger. Through this work, I’ve had the privilege of meeting people from all walks of life, each with their own stories, struggles, strengths, and goals. Every client taught me something new, and with each experience, my love for organizing grew deeper.

I began to see that organizing was never just about decluttering.

It was about support.
It was about functionality.
It was about creating systems that honor the person, not forcing the person to fit the system.

That realization pushed me to go further.

In 2021, I decided to become even more intentional about my education and joined ICD, the Institute for Challenging Disorganization. This was a pivotal chapter for me because it expanded my understanding of chronic disorganization and the neurodivergent brain. It gave me deeper insight into how differently we all function and how powerful it can be when we embrace out-of-the-box solutions instead of fighting against them.

Then in 2022, I continued that journey by pursuing ADHD Coaching through the foundation program at Coach Approach Institute.

Okay so, I get it, listing all of makes me feel like i’m just bragging.

But the truth is, my commitment to learning has never been about titles or credentials.

It’s about people.

I immerse myself in education because I want to be the best organizer, coach, and support system I can possibly be for the people who trust me with their lives, homes, and challenges.

This work is deeply personal to me.

Helping people find organization, build systems that actually support them, and create lives that feel more aligned… this is my Ikigai. It’s the intersection of what I love, what I’m good at, and how I can serve others.

So whether you’re here because you’re looking for organizing support, ADHD-informed strategies, or simply a reminder that there are compassionate, customized ways to create order in your life, welcome.

I’m so excited you’re here.

Here’s to building spaces, systems, and lives that truly support who you are.
